A Shared Link is a web link that gives people access to the files you choose. The people you send it to do not need an account and do not need to log in.
Creating a Shared Link
- Select the files or the Collection you want to share.
- Click Share in the menu, or press S. You can also right-click the selection and choose Share.
- Fill in the options.
- Click Share in the bottom right corner.
- Copy the link and send it by e-mail or chat.
The options
- Subject and Description. A short title and an optional message for the recipient.
- Link valid until. The date the link stops working.
- Download. Whether people can see previews only, download the original, or use one of the download presets set up by your administrator.
- Watermark. Adds a watermark to images, if the feature is switched on. The original cannot be downloaded when a watermark is applied.
- Upload. Lets recipients upload files, to a folder you choose.
- Approve. Lets recipients approve or reject files and add comments.
- Notify by e-mail. Sends you an e-mail when someone uploads a file or approves or rejects one.
Share files or a Collection?
If you share individual files, the link shows those files only. If you share a Collection, the link stays up to date: when you add or remove files in the Collection, recipients see the change. Choose a Collection when you expect the set to change.
Changing a link later
You can change the name, description and options of a Shared Link at any time. Adding or removing files is only possible when you shared a Collection.
